Day 27: Mo I Rana to Trondheim

472 km and 6 h of train

It is raining cats and dogs, so i went to the railway station in full rain battle dress.

There are two other cyclists who had to embark as well. And now we only had 3 minutes to do all the juggling with bikes and luggage. Quite a challenge!

The train has a snowplough ready, Norwegian trains dont stop for autumn leaves on the railway tracks.

I am sitting in the family wagon, which has an indoor soundproof playground for little kids. With toys, tunnels (of course, always a tunnel in Norway) and even a slide. A big advantage as we have to spend 6 hours on this train.

The track is running close to wold water rivers, over waterfalls and through endless forests. Traintravel in Norway is impressive.

Half past ten, we are arriving in Trondheim. Looking to the lights of all the houses in the dark night it feels like arriving back in the familiar world.

I drop my bags in the P-hotel besides, or in, the station. And make a small cycling tour through the city center. As i have leave the city tomorrow early. The streets are abandoned on a monday evening. It is raining lightly. The lights are reflected on the wet cobblestones. A few places are still open, although almost no people. Time for a beer.
